Drama, fantasy and something wholly new: music by Brahms, Debussy and Laurence Osborn.

Brahms' First Symphony begins with the beating of a heart in torment and ends with a hymn of triumph. Debussy's Prélude à I'après-midi d'un faune is very different – as a soft, sultry flute opens the gateway to a dream-world of sensuous sound. Two huge imaginations; two unforgettable musical journeys, brought thrillingly to life by our inspirational guest conductor Ariane Matiakh, tonight making her RPO debut.

But in between comes the most wonderful adventure of all, as superstar cellist Zlatomir Fung gives the world premiere of a magical new work by the innovative British composer Laurence Osborn.

We haven't heard it yet – no one has! But Laurence has taken his inspiration from the world after dark, in all its mystery and wonder. Be there when it comes to life.
