The Hanover Band returns to Cadogan Hall with a celebration of four great Classical and Romantic masters.

Beethoven's dramatic Coriolan Overture opens the programme, followed by the youthful elegance of Mozart's Symphony No. 5. A highlight is Haydn's Trumpet Concerto, performed by internationally acclaimed trumpeter David Blackadder on a period instrument – a rare chance to hear the work as Haydn may have imagined it.

The concert concludes with Schubert's magnificent Symphony No. 9, 'The Great', in C major, whose expansive vision helped shape the future of orchestral music.

Under the direction of Leon Bosch, the Hanover Band brings together drama, elegance, virtuosity and symphonic grandeur in an evening of timeless masterpieces.

The Hanover Band is one of the UK's leading period-instrument orchestras, bringing together many of the finest specialists in historically informed performance. Their acclaimed performances and recordings, often described as revelatory, luscious, outstanding and illuminating, continue to unlock the sound world of the 18th and 19th centuries for today's audiences.
