As the harvest approaches, the farmer must choose between returning home to a life of pretence or embracing their true self, whatever the cost. The story follows a wounded deer with a taste for confrontation and a disoriented runaway farmer who no longer recognises themselves. A Xerox of a Deer is a new contemporary puppet play exploring trans identity, isolation, and friendship in rural Ireland. Cervus is the last of his kind, with his death comes an apocalypse – He wants to die. Troubled with a dark secret. Ída is a farmer trapped in tradition planning to stow away on the cargo train. In the darkest corners of our world, unlikely friendship blooms. The Horgles are a bold take on puppetry, with the mission being to create earnest and traditional theatre experiences for modern audiences. Founded in 2022 by Irish writer-performers Kyle Moss & Ceilbí.
